Briskios Municipal Library
Briskios Municipal Library is located in the central square of Gargaliani (64 km from Kalamata).
The building was founded in 1958 with a donation of money from Dimitrios Briskas (1883-1968), a university professor from abroad. From 1965 until 1985, the building functioned as a library. It was then closed due to the librarian’s leaving. It reopened in 2006 and has been operating as a lending library ever since. The library has about 7,500 volumes. There are also six computers with free internet access.
In front of the Briskios Municipal Library, Sarantis Agapinos’ (known by the war nickname as Tellos Agras) statue, the Macedonian warrior from Gargaliani, dominates the front area.
