"Second Chance School of Kalamata"
The "Second Chance School of Kalamata" was founded in 2005 to provide basic knowledge and skills, tackle social exclusion, and strengthen students' self-esteem, social integration, and access to the labour market. At the "Second Chance School of Kalamata", adults (18 years and older) who have not completed their compulsory education are given the opportunity to attend a specially designed school, responding to their educational and psychosocial needs.
The course lasts two years and leads to acquiring a High School Diploma. The subjects taught are: Greek Language, Mathematics, Sciences and Technology, Informatics, English Language, Social Education, Environmental Education and Aesthetic Education. The school also has a Career and a Psychology Counselor.
Finally, the "Second Chance School of Kalamata" implements environmental, health education, cultural programmes and European Erasmus+ lifelong learning programmes while also organising days and conferences, having developed contacts with educational organisations in Europe.
