A. Tassos Municipal Art Gallery
The Municipal Art Gallery is housed in a renovated neoclassical building. In 2007, the Gallery was named after the engraver A. Tassos, due to the great number of his work, he donated himself. The real name of A. Tassos, (1914-1985), was Anastasios Alevizos, born in Lefkohora of Messinia. His work is characterized by the detail in the way he depicts everyday people of labor and pain.
The collection of the Art Gallery includes 350 pieces of art, dating, mostly, during the decade of 1980. It focuses, mainly, in painting and sculpture, but the visitor may, also, find pieces of ceramics and engravings. Of great interest are the exhibitions frequently organized.
